I have to admit I am a gadget girl and kitchen things are a fun passion.

My favorite kitchen thing would have to be my Big Boss Grill. It has saved me many a night when I just don’t feel like cooking, don’t have a lot of time and everyone is looking for dinner.  It makes everything from donuts to grilled veggies to chocolate chip cookies and clean up is a snap.

My handiest gadget is my KitchenAid Jar Opener. This little tool has saved me lots of frustration and fingernails, as it easily opens the hardest to open jar. I have had mine for years and I use it often.

I have had a couple bad kitchen things mixed in with the good ones. My least favorite kitchen gadget was my Crisco Dispense All. If you are familiar with Crisco, you know it is a sticky, glob of dough like fat. It is used in place of butter. I bought a little container that was supposed to neatly dispense the Crisco (hey I said I liked gadgets lol!)

Anyway, this was a cylinder with a pump. You were supposed to put the Crisco in it and simply pump it out. Well by the time I was done trying to get this little puppy to work I had Crisco from one end of my kitchen to the next. It was a sticky mess. And to make matters worse the pump broke! Yuck. Another of my not so successful kitchen things was the automatic egg peeler. The idea was to put the egg in a little white tube. Then run water over it and the shell would peel off easily. NOT! That was not a very successful kitchen thing for me. It just didn’t work.

Now, I look for kitchen things that will simplify my kitchen. The items must be truly functional and help simplify something. It must also be easy to use and fit well with my decor.

There is a difference between consumer and industrial kitchen gadgets. Like most kitchen gadgetry price is strongly associated with quality. If you look at chef designed kitchens you will notice the industrial cookers, fryers, and gadgets. I have viewed multiple restaurants in my area, and I am always impressed by their work ethic.

Some of the best kitchen things I have found are As Seen On TV products. The reason is simple. These products have to compete with thousands of others to proove they offer something unique and provide value.  And they have to have a good price point to fit the pocketbook.  So I share a lot of these products and I will be sharing others also.
